TERENCE TONG

Registered Osteopath & Strength Coach

My journey into healthcare started through sport, but it was the people I worked with along the way who really shaped the way I practise today.

I was a professional Muay Thai athlete and coach before moving into personal training and strength & conditioning, including working with Australian Rules football. Over the years, I've had the opportunity to coach people from all walks of life, from competitive athletes to people who simply want to feel stronger, move better or get back to doing the things they enjoy.

What I've always loved about coaching is helping people achieve something they once thought was out of reach. Sometimes that's returning to sport after an injury. Sometimes it's getting stronger in the gym, running again after years away, or simply feeling more confident in what their body can do.

This eventually led me to study osteopathy, completing a Bachelor of Health Science and Bachelor of Applied Science (Osteopathy) at RMIT University. Osteopathy gave me another way to help people. I enjoy being able to use my hands to help someone feel better, move more comfortably and feel more at ease in their body.

Today, I combine osteopathic treatment with rehabilitation and progressive strength training. I see these as complementary parts of the same process. Hands-on treatment can help people feel better and move more freely, while exercise and strength training help build the capacity to keep moving forward.

What matters to me

You don’t need to be an athlete to benefit from getting stronger.

I work with people at all stages of life, whether you're recovering from an injury, managing persistent pain, returning to exercise, training for a sport or simply wanting to stay strong and capable as you get older.

I take the time to understand what you want to achieve and what is currently getting in the way. From there, we work together to build your confidence, strength and physical capacity at a pace that makes sense for you.

For me, the most rewarding part of the job is seeing someone realise that their body is capable of more than they thought.

My goal is simple: to help you feel better, get stronger and become more confident in your body, so you can get back to doing the things that matter to you.

JOHANNA CHEONG

Osteopath & Strength & Conditioning Coach

I’m a registered osteopath and strength coach, and I help people understand their bodies, recover from pain and injury, and build the strength and confidence to do the things that matter to them.

I know what it is like to live with pain while trying to keep up with work, family and everything else life demands. Before becoming an osteopath, I worked in corporate finance. Long hours, stress and a busy lifestyle eventually took a toll on my own body, and experiencing chronic pain myself changed the way I think about pain and healthcare.

I learned that pain is influenced by more than just the area that hurts. Our movement, sleep, stress, nervous system and life experiences can all play a role in how we feel. This is why my approach combines osteopathy, exercise and progressive strength training, while helping people understand what is happening in their bodies and become more confident with movement.

Johanna Cheong, osteopath and strength and conditioning coach at Resilience Health, Singapore

I love working with people at different stages of life.

I particularly enjoy working with older adults, helping them become stronger, more confident and more independent. That might mean carrying the shopping, getting up from the floor, playing with their grandchildren or simply feeling capable in their body again.

As a mum of two, I also have a special interest in children and adolescents. During my osteopathic training, I completed an internship in Paediatric Manual Medicine at a rural Australian clinic, working with children and adolescents.

I also work with active adults, runners and HYROX athletes, helping them recover from injuries while rebuilding the strength and capacity they need to return to the activities they enjoy.

Over the years, I’ve helped people become more confident with movement, return to activities they had stopped doing, and build strength after periods of pain or injury.

What matters to me

I believe our bodies are adaptable and capable of becoming stronger.

Rather than encouraging people to constantly protect themselves from movement, I want to help you understand your body, reduce fear around movement and gradually build the confidence and capacity to do more.

Whether you're recovering from an injury, managing persistent pain, trying to stay strong as you get older, or simply wanting to move and feel better, my goal is for you to leave Resilience Health feeling more capable than when you walked in.
